Hamfest - Camp 807
(sponsored
by the Lake of
the Woods Amateur Radio Society)
LWARS
will be the host for CAMP 807 2008, and they would like to extend an invitation
to all Amateur Radio operators, their families, and other interested persons to
participate in this annual family event. It's shaping up to be a great weekend!
The Camp 807 committee hopes that you can include our region's annual Ham Radio
gathering in your summer plans.
CAMP 807
2008 will take place the weekend of Aug 1st , 2nd
and 3rd at the
Sioux
Narrows Provincial Park and
Campground.
The
provincial park will be charging $25.25 per night for un-powered camp sites, and
$30.20 per night for camp sites with services. Reservations
are
highly
recommended and can
be made by phoning the park at 1-807-226-5223 - ask
for Bev. Please
mention that the reservation is for Camp 807
- Lake of the Woods Amateur Radio Society and the
reservation name is Woody
Linton.

The
145.170 MHz (-600) repeater in
Sioux Narrows and the 147.030 MHz (-600)
repeater in Kenora will be used as talk-in frequencies. These two repeaters
are linked. Club members will be monitoring the repeaters in order to provide
directions and assistance to those traveling to the event.
Friday
Aug 1st will be for registration and socializing.
Saturday's
supper will be steak and potatoes, with pot luck salads and desserts.

This will help us know how many steaks to order. There
will be a nominal per-person charge for the steak, payable at registration time.
Please bring your own plate and utensils.
